Week #6 brought us a split of our Top Oval drivers going to 3 different events on the weekend along with a Friday Night showcase in Sauk Centre, MN. Sauk Centre holds a Friday Night Pro Champ 440 race every year, and PJ Wanderscheid took the victory in front of his home crowd with Brian Rydeen, Chris Broermann, and Dustin LeFebvre finishing behind him. The Easten Pro Tour had it's annual event in Burkes Falls, Ontario and it brought Jason Smith a Pro Champ 440 win with young up and comer Jeff DeJong following him for an outstanding 2nd place finish. Craig House driving the George Samson flyer had a great weekend, but ended up not being able to finish on Sunday after leading the final. Tony Pettinelli, Jason Lavallee and Tim Hibbard rounded out the top 5. USSA had a first time event in Fountain City, WI, and from all the talk after the weekend, it was a success. Brad Bettin took home the 600 Open final on Saturday beating out a hard charging Nick Van Strydonk and Matt Schulz to take home his first victory in the top Pro classes. Nick Van Strydonk also took home his first win, winning the Pro Champ 440 race on Sunday. Nick is now in the record books for being the youngest Pro Champ 440 feature winner in the history of the sport. Congratulations Nick. Matt Schulz as well as Brad Bettin gave Nick a great run but they had to settle for 2nd and 3rd. Dan Fenhaus finished 4th and young Mike Delahut, who is an apprentice of the great Dale Loritz, finished in 5th. WSA Pro-Ice was in Garrison, MN for its annual motorsports extravaganza. Mille Lacs Lake had an entire weekend of events going on with a total of 4 race tracks built specifically for 4 different kinds of racing. Along with the 1000's of ice fishing houses on the lake, you had a 3/8 mile oval for the snowmobile races, a 1/2 mile oval for the car races, a 1 mile lemans course for the ATV and Dirtbike races, and of course a small Kitty Kat/120 track for the kids. Dustin Wahl was the story of the weekend winning both the Pro 600 Open and the Pro Champ 440 finals holding off Gary Moyle who was hard at it this weekend trying to get around the #74 sled. Brandon Johnson finished strong taking 3rd in both finals. World Champions Brian Bewcyk and PJ Wanderschied both finished in the top 5 during the weekend.
1. Dustin Wahl Back on top after sweeping the Garrison finals.
2. Gary Moyle
3. Brandon Johnson
4. Brian Bewcyk
5. Brad Bettin
6. Nick Van Strydonk
7. Matt Schulz
8. PJ Wanderscheid
9. Dan Fenhaus
10. Jason Smith
Honorable Mention:
Brian Rydeen
Jeff DeJong
Nick Dolezal Getting that Dale Loritz ride figured out.
Craig House Hopping on Samson's sled and doing very well.
Jay Ryden
Chris Broermann
Richard Smith Put a full effort in all weekend at Garrison just to have his heart broken by all the ladies at the Blue Goose. The lines that Richard was taking just weren't getting him around the Goose smoothly.
Aaron Holtan Rode nicely along side of Richard Smith for most of the weekend but went hard into the bales following his teammate around the Blue Goose. Aaron needs to find his own line around the Goose, then he will definately come out on top next time.
Larry Day???
Aaron Fellows???

with the final showdown of east and west looming at valcourt in two weeks i wonder what guys from out west will go to shawinigan before like brian bewcyk did last year? or eganville the week after like dustin wahl and matt schulz did last year? just watch for larry day and tony pettinelli in the next few weeks they'll have the sleds dialed. also watch out for jason smith and jeff dejong.

Cory - very nice "updates" week-to-week. Question) Are you trying to get your foot in the front door at Snow Goer/SNOWWEEK officially or what?
