First of all it was my FRONT yard  ...second of all this is probably one of the first political threads I've chimed in on, only because I hate talking politics slightly more than religion. Thirdly (is that really a word?) if I'm a "loud mouthed republican" then I'm gonna suck the end of a barrel tonight. If you were just lumping me in with a "group" of people that you disagree with politically on an Internet forum then I'll just laugh it off.

If I recall correctly the previous administration downsized our military and its resources. I haven't researched that statement, but I do recall being in Africa with some Marines during the time period of the embassy bombings etc., and it was a topic of conversation.
More military lives were lost during the Clinton administration than during the Bush administration. As for a waste of US tax dollars, when the hell isn't all our government, from top to bottom, wasting our tax dollars?

WASHINGTON, April 19, 2006 – The Center has studied personal financial disclosures of state lawmakers since 1999. The investigation showed that although state legislators often preside over areas in which they hold personal interests, many states have weak mechanisms for disclosing those ties. In fact, 24 states received failing scores in the Center's 2004 survey on making basic information about the outside interests of their legislators available to the public.
The 43-question survey measured access to information essential to monitoring whether legislators stand to gain personally from actions they take in office. It graded states on how much they disclose about legislators' employment, personal business activities, clients, investments, real property holdings and leadership positions in organizations. It also studied the accessibility of the disclosure statements, the enforcement of the disclosure laws, and the rules defining who must file disclosures and how often.
