Hi I am a loyal fan I try to make it to each event and I just want to say that I am really disappointed with the Ely vs. Frederick mess. It is ridiculous when fans and families have to here officials and drivers talking down on other drivers/organizations. I do understand that there is prizes involved but in all reality why cant the drivers just have fun? I here people taking about trying to find new drivers and fans but the way that EVERYONE has been acting why would anyone want to be a part of the organization? I don't think that the drivers that went to either event last weekend should be Ostracized. It was a mistake having both events on the same weekend and unfair to the drivers and fans, there could have been one more race to watch and or drive in.

Fortunately this place is limited to mostly drivers and die hard fans. Not a bad place for discussion and letting loose a little.
I am sure the people in Frederic that saw the race there were very happy.
I know the people in Ely were loving every bit of it.
Don't let the fact that there is a little disagreeing on here lead you to believe that it spills over into the outside world much.

I'm guessing that next year that will not be a problem. This year was kind of a mess. I think that both parties will learn from this and try to better the situation for the next year. Thats atleast what i see will happen.

what it comes down to (My opinion) is when you get a fairly small racing discipline, such as watercross, and Ice oval racing. and have two events on the same weekend, with only enough participants to put on one really good show.
EVERYONE LOOSES!
ice oval racing has been doing this ever since we have been involved. and from what I see. it does nothing but hurt the sport. hopefully this is going to be considered more in the future with ice ovals.
I kind of keep track of what you guys have going here, and I am very impressed with your organizations and how things are going. so keep up the good work! and DON'T schedule against each other. especially if you have open weekends?? trust me it will not make anything better.
and I totally agree with Ken about a little controversy being Ok on here. It shows that you guys are passionate about your sport. and do care. but most of all it gives us fans something to follow. look how boring the ovals site has been since Cory took his ball home and quit playing.
oh and I have to say, nameless posters are just that (nobody).
just an opinion from a fan. hope to see you all in Grantsburg

Doug,
Having announced both Watercross and Ice Ovals for a few decades. The BIG difference is that in Watercross ALL the promoters want whats best for the entire Sport.
In Ice Ovals, the majority of the Promoters wants whats best for the sport, however you have one that only looks out for what is best for them and their race.
You DON'T find that at ANY Watercross, no matter who runs or sanctions it.
Both forms of racing are Fantastic, and BOTH watercross and ice oval racers do it for the LOVE of the sport.
