Akbar wrote: why not just add 600 mod to the stock 800 class and that will give alot of options for people if they want to run a stock sled or if they want to run a mod 600, i think the competition would be closer and this would be the best opportunity to bring the driver count up. this would not eliminate any sleds that currently run but has the potential to bring in more racers by adding 600 mod to the class.
I couldn't agree more

I am in favor of letting 600 mods in the 800 stock class. I would like to race again next year this way i could build a 600 mod and run it in stock and open.lets do it. Ken i would also love to be the first one to sign up for the figure 8.i was thinking 8 laps 8 drivers in the figure 8 track how does that sound.heck maybe we could even do it at night. (just a thought)

Jon i think this is something that will be implemented the first year in the pro class. but i still think we should look at stock 600 for the stock class

Team DP Pro Mod and Pro Formula (or whatever the class is called).
Modded 600cc sleds in two classes of racing with one sled, sounds pretty economical to me. It gives the drivers more choices, more compition, makes racing better. Where does anybody lose? Chad and Andy get to keep there 800s, New or returning drivers get to pick what sled and type and are still compititive.
I think this is a WIN WIN for everybody and the sport I highly encourage all board members to make this a class!!

I thought we were going to wait until next year to let TEAM DP out of the bag.well if this new class goes we will only need 2 sleds a small trailer and 2 people will be able to run 4 classes. Mint. will the # 16 of DP Racing.com/org enter the Figure 8

My greatest concern is having the Grantsburg pit area look like we went back 10 years. I am not worried about keeping the 800, I am worried about going in the wrong direction. The rules that require suspensions and current body styles were created for promotional reasons. Do we want to be a just a "racers" circuit or continue with why the IWA was created? A large part of getting respect and recognition from the industry is dependent on current equipment. When photos from our races show new sleds, it helps our sport. If all of the sleds are old, it hurts the sport. Unfortunately it is that simple. Think about what race sleds should be displayed at Hay Days to make the most positive impression of the IWA? Everybody in the industry attends this event. I trail rode our stock sled last year and I will be trail riding it this year. When it is not current, I will buy a new one. You can easily sell an old stock sled, good luck with an outdated mod.

so we try mod 600 in the pro class after a few years if we have enough interest either have mod 600 and stock 600 or leave it the way it is. the only new pol 800's are fuel injected so I don't know how long we can get parts for our current pol 800's.

My 600 mod sled will be in IQ trim, I think most people in this class will be running new iron. In my opion most people will have new looking stuff and I plan on running my 600 mod in the winter with differnt trail heads and cdi on it. It will probally be easier to keep up and running than the converted 440 I ran on the trails last year. again this is what I plan on doing I can tspeak for every one in the class

id run a 600 mod in the IQ race trim also if this class came into affect maybe even just in open if not. look at the hp though from some of the stock sleds to the 600 mods, yes the new doo xp 800 is the same as most 600 mods but the poo 700s and 800 stockers and rev doo 800 are like what 20 hp less and even more with the few 600 stockers out there. lots to think about.
