I'd recommend getting a few volunteers with IWA shirts on to poll the crowd at Wausau - get a list of questions and find out what the crowd really thinks - then do the same through every race ending at Grantsburg next year and make your decision. Maybe giveaway a few shirts or DVD's to those who answer via a drawing.

As for looks - it's my opinion that at minimum they look presentable - the better they look though, the more attention they draw. Have your 5-10 rule and then use peer pressure to enforce general looks. I would guess in rare cases you will have people races sleds that look like POS's but most of the time you will be sittin pretty.

As for classes - the first page of any media guide given out the day of the race should explain Pro/Semi-Pro and Stock/Mod. Then Always be sure to have Skip or the announcer point fans to the "printed media" for explanations - gives the fans what they want and the IWA more exposure to their media.

What the rule should state is that the sled should be able to go back 5 years (so an edge 600 7 or 8 from 2000-2005 would be good) with at least 600cc engine in it. so the edge plastic would be good to 2010 since the last edge with a motor of at least 600cc was built in 2005. gen 2s would be outdated then. This is the smallest class we have for cc wise so that is how we should base our rules off of. This should go for all of our classes i think. That would make a zx outdated after this year. This would put the newer looking plastic out there.

I definitely think it is very important to have nice looking machines that look professional. A clean sled, with nice, tact full, with professional numbers and looks about the sled. This can show the spectators that we are professional and take pride in building our machines and proud of what we do. I've been trying to drill this into my teammate's head all year, especially when it comes to duct tapeinq vents up, and the crappy residue it leaves behind.

I think part of the appeal of Watercross is that as a spectator I can watch MY SLED on the water.

Ice ovals are actually a purpose built sled correct? I have never been to Eagle River.

You have got to agree with Ken. Sled age is not everything.

Mike, I don't agree with your sign up program. Appoint a committee of a cross section of drivers from all classes.

Having Mark Chair the committee would be excellent.

I need volunteers who are willing to do the tedious job of reading through every rule and deciding if it is written properly or needs to be addressed. This is not a job that I feel I can assign to members who don't have any interest in working on it.
