So all the loud mouths are spreading conspiracy theories and scare tactics -- on both sides -- trying to influence others to vote their way. Issues? To heck with the issues, better to call names, spread false statements and generally confuse the facts.
Consider this: Do you remember the late 1990s? I do -- the stock market was growing at 10-14 percent per year, the economy was cooking along swimmingly, we had a budget surplus and one of the few problems we had was finding people to fill all of the jobs that were out there.
Then we elected the current administration. They tried to convince us that the existing economic policies weren't working. We needed to give the people at the top of the economic food chain a tax break, they insisted, and that would allow our economy to really grow. Don't worry about the deficit, they said, because tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans ALWAYS generates more revenue for the government because it makes the economy grow so well.
So here we sit, eight years later. We've gone from budget surplus to massive, record deficits. The income of the CEOs, CFOs and other top brass has exploded, while the people working at the companies and living in your neighborhood and my neighborhood are scraping to get by, and many are losing their homes, can't afford to buy new cars and are worried about whether they'll still have a job next week. Our stock market has lost billions of dollars in value -- yep, your 401(k) has been gutted. The trickle down economics did not work.
The scare-mongers will tell you that Obama's tax program will gut the economy because we need to keep taxes very low on the rich so they can continue to trickle their money through the economy. Well guess what? His program would merely reinstall the tax programs of the late 1990s -- WHEN THE ECONOMY WAS GOING WELL, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WAS RUNNING AT A SURPLUS, YOUR 401(k) WAS GROWING, consumer confidence was high and companies were busy looking for employees instead of laying off really good people by the 100s.
So you decide. Do you want to return to the economic policies of the late 1990s, or continue what we've got going on this year?

That's a perfect response -- thank you, you just made my case for me. No facts, just name calling. Socialist? You obviously don't know anything about socialism. Muslim? Raised a Christian his entire life. Racist? Yeah, he's really had a lot of separatist language in his speeches. Dumazz? Look in the mirror.

I went to a catholic church for awhile, does not change the fact I am lutheran.
Read some of the shyt out of his book before you continue suckin his dyk. You did know he has written a book right?

Thanks again -- your vulgar approach is making you look like a fool, which is great for my points. I still haven't seen an issue from you, other than scare tactics. Other than a middle name tagged on him when he was born, give me one sliver of proof that he's a muslim? There is none, but he's got a lifetime as a Christian (your personal example, by the way, was great -- Catholic to Lutheran. Are you aware they are both Christian religions?!)
And, as stated on here before, I'm not a lib -- I'm fiscally conservative. If you think supporting policies that explode the federal deficit are truly conservative, you clearly don't understand what the term means. If the Republican Party would govern in a truly conservative way, I would support them again, like I have in the past.

Socialism: So, restoring the pre-W tax policies would make us a socialist society? Seems like capitalism was working pretty darn well previously.
Muslim: Give us the scare tactics. You know what? Even if he WAS a muslim, it wouldn't make him a radical muslim terrorist. Dangerous radical religious freaks are found in every religion, including the Christian faith (Hitler was a Christian). But he's not a muslim -- give that up.

Mbenoy119: At first blush, I respect you because at least you come with what you believe is a fact instead of a scare tactic. That said, if you're telling me that it takes THAT long (surplus 12 years after Reagan left office) and costs THAT much ($10 trillion) for trickle down economics to give us one year of surplus, it isn't worth waiting for. If it had happened one year, even three years after Reagan left office, I could buy it. But it happened after four years of Bush I (who, by the way, was a far better president than his son) and eight years of a democrat that many of us (self included!) were scared of at first.
