We're going to start making ice on Sunday night. I hope the temps drop lower than they forecast, it will just make things go easier. We will try to have our web site updated as the ice making progresses. Our web site is www.snolyons.com. I will try to keep all of you updated as things progress.

12 days to make enough ice to race on? I hope you can get at least a foot of ice down otherwise it's going to be a dirt track

We have never had a foot of ice on our track in the last couple of years. We raced 2 seperate weekends last year on 8" of ice and still had 4" in the bottom of the deepest rutt. "If" the temps would drop down into the single digits for 4 consecutive nights and a little wind chill, we would have it done. Right now it looks like the temps are going to be up and down for the next couple of days and then it is supposed to get pretty cold. We shouldn't have any problem getting it done as long as the weather follows the weather mans forecast, which would be a first. I'll keep everyone posted the next few days, if I have time between work, ice making, and sleep!

If you dont really know what is needed, and or how much ice they have had in the past please dont state the worst.
The track there has always been a great track even the year it was 50+ degrees out track held up awesome.

Fair enough, if the weather holds up, it shouldn't be an issue. Just a budget racer that can't afford to wreck a track, I'm sure there are a lot of people who share my concern.

Settle down boys!
I think Mike just wants to make sure his plans aren't up in the air.
And Nick just doesn't want a widespread panic.
Personally I can't wait until next weekend in IA. I have always wanted to drive that sweet frickin track.

The boys and I did in fact make ice last night. It was touch and go at first, but then the temp dropped and with the wind chill it worked pretty good. The wind laid down around 2 AM so we shut down and let it freeze up for the night. Mother nature and her strong btu's from the sun( not the temp) melted some of the thinner spots, but it will just make the ground that more frozen for tonight. I just got done getting the machinery ready. Grabbin a bite to eat and letting all of you know that we are making ice. Well I'm heading to the track now to get to work. I'll let everyone know tomorrow how we did.

Thanks for all the hard work to get a track for us to race on. I want you guys to know that I meant NO disrespect in my earlier comment. We'll be there and I'm sure you'll have a HUGE turnout of drivers. Thanks again
