The advantage of a forum for issues like these (even though you get some people getting out of line) is you get multiple opinions + rebuts in one place. If your open to discussion, you have the perfect engine for it on your website.

I will e-mail my opinions from now on as well.

See ya on the ice this weekend!

Well Nick Ive bitten my tongue long enough. Whats the reasoning behind this decision. Jeff has every right to be unhappy with this. Its got nothing todo with his kid he's thinking a little about sponsorship and attendence at his home town track. I don't think you would ever hold out a race in the Cities area. Jeff and his team travel a long ways every weekend but 2 and I mean a long ways. Some of your comments on here just show your unprofesionalism. If you can't afford to race every weekend then I guess you had better win every race you do come to, to have enough points to be champion in that class. What you guys did last year at Mcgregger proved the integrity of your organizaton. The oval organizations really need to take a look at what there doing. Do you thing that offering double points helped out the race or the club's dignaghty it only made false class champions. We supported you guys 100% for 5 years never did we get a call on any decisions or thoughts. Guess we didn't matter. Thats ok we found something better. Jeff matters, but you guys will only listen to the son of a great racer who he himself has proved nothing. Whats wrong with dropping one race if that be the case don't pick the race track. Totally unfair. Good Luck to all the racers this year and be safe. This will be my last post (telling the truth here unlike other people on this site who have no integrety) on this site as I no longer have a vested interest in oval racing but will always follow the sport because of the passion I hold for it. What happened to going to the pro-ice website to get thoughts across? What kind of "Integrity" are you talking about? If anyone is questioning The Scheers, look a couple posts down at the Garrison date change! NO organization does more to cater to their drivers. Trust me, they did this to help racers, not hurt them!

Mark, most people didn't realize there was going to be "no points" at BJ. You all might have thought it was clear, but it was never mentioned on here - you all mentioned the points system change on here, but nothing about "no points" at BJ so we had no reason to look for it.

Spiders and Snakes, in Cory's defense, he did message me a week or two back about disagreeing with the "no points" and was going to discuss it with Pro-ice. He must not have had any luck.

I appreciate your comments about how I have proved nothing.

Maybe so...but remember ONE thing Tom:

How well would Cody and Timmy do in this sport if YOU were gone abruptly??

Good luck to your boys this season Tom. I will miss them on the Ice Track. They are great kids, great drivers and I am sure they will carry their success to Cross-Country. Good day.

Well after a off season which I thought was a good one for the sport from which i heard from people and saw online, seems still people are gonna ***** and neither orgnazation can make people happy.

Why is it that it always seems the negitive things are the only things ever talked about on here, never or very rarely the positive things are talked about on here or does a thanks go out to any orgnazations for the work they do and well thanks for giving people a place to race.... Is it that hard, being a fan and die hard sporter of the sport of Ice Ovals I would like to say thanks to WSA, USSA, ER, CPTC, EPT, and anyone i forgot for keeping this sport alive. It must be a pain in the but having to deal with people that cry/complain all the time when things dont go their way or how they would like. Thats the great thing about being just a fan you dont have to deal with all of that.

Mark although I dont know you I would like to thank you for positive things said. And you are right I go to the Pro-Ice web site to see and hear about whats going on with their orgnazation, I dont think as KENLACY says they need to come on this website and post things thats happening in the circuit. Isnt that way Pro Ice has their own website?? To post whats happening with them. Do you go to ABC's website to see what NBC has going on??? NO you go to the website of the group you want to know about.

TOM?? What things has he said on here that are unprofessional?? If you refering to the beer comment he did say JK after it mean (Just Kidding). and if you look back to last years post about the double points weekend and the year prior to that you will see the reason behind it was because they had to cancell a race each year, but wanted to keep the number of points weekend to race for as was stated at beginning of season. they didnt say they were gonna have 6 races then ended up with 7 points weekends.I do know from dealing with the Scheers back in the Willy Jensen days that they do listen to everybody, ya the end result may not be the decision that one wanted but they will listen, and do not call people on the phone as you stated cause you never got a call and ask drivers about what they think on situations. You have as you say nothing to do with the sport of Oval racing anymore so why come on here and try and stir things up if it is not going to effect you or your racers. Why did you bite your tounge for so long, it must not of bothered you to much if you still backed them for 5 years??? Where you not man enough to bring these thoughts to their attention in person, or do you rather type it out knowing that you probablly wont come across them in the future at least anytime soon.

About this TOPIC here though, look back in the past when it was a points race for the smaller classes in December, and before that when it was not a points race. The numbers for the December race really didnt change being or not being a points race in December. So you get 1 or 2 racers in that class that are going to follow the circuit all year long racing in december, and they get a jump on the rest of the field than is that fair?? Its not really the closest place in the world to go and race for a trophy and in the beginning of the year alot of people pick either the December race or April race to go to. For the smaller budget teams and MOM and DAD race teams they can only afford one trip there.

On a HAPPY note though I am glad to see ovals are starting again and the chance for racers to race is better than ever with the owrk out of not competing on the same weekends. Good Luck everyone and hope all stay safe, see you at the track cheering on all of you and thanking all of you for leting me be a fan and watching you guys and gals race.

Eric,

I completely understand going to pro-ice to find out news. I don't have an issue with that. When you make changes less than 3 weeks from race day, you need to notify racers because they are not going to typically check to see if a race is suddenly not going to be a points race. There is not a note on their front page, nothing in the forums. They thought enough to say something on here about the points system change, but no mention of "no points".

And these forums produce a lot of good and a lot of thank yous. People tend to remember the things that get them hot though, so I can understand why the negative is remembered so easily. With forums, when people type, type what you would say to the persons face and use your real name and the results will be significantly better.

As for personal issues resulting in having points or no points, that's a sticky move. You are helping some in spite of others. I know I can make BJ in December, yet I can not make 2 races later in the season. Now BJ is no points.

I am here to race, give me my due when I am on the track. You are never going to make everyone happy, but by being consistent, your going to have much fewer headaches.

Pro-Ice and USSA are doing great things working together, I have always had a blast racing and I have only been doing it for a year.

Thanks to all involved!

kenlacy,

Well they did not come on here and bring to the attention of the points system out of the blue. If you look back and see under that topic it was on about page 6 that Nick asked Ewing to post it for him, after hearing that it was being talked about on here. So Nick also said stuff on here about the points thing in the same manner as he did about the total year points, after it was brought to his atention it was being talked about.

Good luck this year though overall. It sounds like you will be helping a new driver in the champ class. Thats great to hear bringing new blood back in, well not new since i remember seeing JR and SR race Ice lemans, but bring JR back into the sport again is great.

Eric,

I agree completely they mentioned the point system changes. There has been discussion on here about that. There has been no mention of the completely different topic of "no points" at BJ (If I missed it. let me know and I'll remove my foot from my mouth). I follow this site to a fault

I noticed it when the changes were finalized 2 weeks back and that is when I first said something - and I should have contacted Nick at that point. However, Cory didn't realize about the "no points" either, at which time he said he said that was not right and was going to talk to Wally; so I figured that was my voice.

It's all good! I look forward to the weekend!
